Nursery Practitioner

My name is Lauren, and I am an Early Years Practitioner, currently based in the baby room at Monkey Puzzle Regent Terrace.

What fills your heart with happiness about your role?

I love to watch the children develop and bring new experiences in to the room.

How did you get your career started in Early Years?

I’ve always been around children. I started at a previous nursery in 2016 and gained my Level 2 before moving over to Monkey Puzzle.

How are you supported at Monkey Puzzle to develop and progress your career?

I am currently doing my Level 3 at Monkey Puzzle. I have a mentor who helps with any questions I have and will check in with me weekly.

What is your potential next step?

I would like to be Room Leader when the opportunity arises.

What would you say to anyone with a choice of early years childcare as a possible career path?

Always have an open mind because no day is the same. The children come in day to day differently, be positive, it is a hard job but very rewarding at the same time.
