A Library Adventure at Our Cambridge Nursery, Where Early Literacy Begins
At Monkey Puzzle Regent Terrace, one of central Cambridge’s warmest and most welcoming day nurseries, some of our biggest adventures begin with the smallest of steps. Our little ones recently set off on a special trip to Cambridge City Library, and it turned into a wonderful morning of discovery, new stories, and early literacy in action.
Discovering New Stories Together
Our little ones had a wonderful time exploring Cambridge City Library, browsing the shelves and discovering brand new stories along the way. Best of all, each child chose some books to bring back to nursery, ready to share and enjoy with their friends. There is something really special about watching a child pick out a story of their very own, then delight in reading it alongside their peers.
Why Early Literacy Matters for Your Child
Early literacy really is where the magic begins. Long before children learn to read for themselves, sharing books helps them build vocabulary, imagination, concentration, and a genuine love of stories that stays with them for life. Trips like this one show children that reading is fun, sociable, and part of everyday life. For your child, that means an early years experience that nurtures confidence, curiosity, and the language and listening skills that matter most, giving them a real head start. It is just one of the many ways we help every child at Regent Terrace play, learn, and grow.
